About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the payroll function for our organization. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of biweekly payroll for over 100 employees. The Payroll Manager will serve as a key liaison between payroll, accounting, and human resources, ensuring seamless communication and compliance across departments.
• Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage, process, and audit all aspects of payroll operations.
+ Maintain and review payroll systems to ensure accurate processing of salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
+ Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and internal policies.
+ Resolve payroll discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary.
+ Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data.
+ Perform audits and adjustment entries related to taxes, wages, and deductions.
+ Reconcile payroll-related tax accounts.
+ Administer 401(k) deferrals and loans, including compliance testing and audit preparation.
+ Support year-end processes including W-2s and other tax forms.
+ Collaborate with Finance on general ledger and payroll audits.
+ Assist HR with onboarding, terminations, and Paychex system entries.
+ Respond to payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly.
+ Lead implementation of new payroll platforms and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
+ Strong understanding of payroll best practices, benefits, and tax regulations.
+ Proficiency in Excel and payroll/timekeeping systems.
+ Experience with Paychex Flex preferred.
+ Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
+ Strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $89000.00 - $111000.00/yr.
