Senior Manager of Data and AI Governance
Remote with up to 25% Travel

Top Skills Required
+ 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related leadership roles.
+ Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
+ Experience with data management methodologies and AI (machine learning, natural language processing).
+ Knowledge of data security, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA), and compliance requirements.
+ Familiarity with AI governance, data ethics, and emerging technology oversight.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholder groups.
+ Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
Location & Travel
+ Fully remote, but preference for candidates residing in Texas. Candidates outside of the state of Texas will be considered if they meet all the skill requirements.
+ Up to 25% travel to affiliated health institutions across the state of Texas.
Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Data and AI Governance will lead and manage the organization’s enterprise data governance program. This includes ensuring the proper use, protection, and value creation of enterprise data assets across a statewide collaborative platform focused on improving healthcare outcomes, research, and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & Strategy
+ Develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance strategies, policies, and standards.
+ Align governance objectives with business strategy, compliance, and ethical data use.
+ Monitor and report on program maturity and progress.
+ Lead change management initiatives to support adoption and sustainability.
Workgroup Management
+ Lead cross-functional governance workgroups, including:
+ AI & Emerging Technology Governance: Oversee responsible AI usage, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance.
+ Data Literacy: Promote data-driven decision-making through training and awareness.
+ Data Security & Privacy: Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to enforce standards and regulations.
+ Data Architecture: Ensure alignment between governance, infrastructure, and data platforms.
+ Research & Innovation: Support responsible data use for research and advanced analytics.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
+ Partner with internal institutions, governance committees, business leaders, and compliance teams to define and execute data strategy.
+ Act as a liaison across business units to drive stakeholder engagement and adoption.
+ Communicate governance initiatives and progress to executive leadership.
Compliance & Risk Management
+ Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
+ Develop strategies to mitigate risks related to data misuse, breaches, and compliance gaps.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.

Work Environment
+ Hybrid role: Primarily remote with occasional onsite or travel requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $110.00/hr.
