The Ann and H.J. Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences (AES) Department is seeking a Temporary Researcher. This position involves conducting advanced numerical simulations of fiber-reinforced composites, focusing on modeling high void volume fractions and large deformation behavior. The role requires developing algorithms, implementing finite element models, and communicating findings through reports and presentations.

Who We Are
A collaborative group within the Aerospace Mechanics Research Center (AMReC) at University of Colorado Boulder carrying out sponsored research on a variety of composite analysis and data analytics projects.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
+ Conduct Literature review on degradation of polymer and polymer matrix composites
+ Develop and implement random generator algorithms for composite microstructures with varying void fractions.
+ Perform finite element simulations of fiber-reinforced composites under large deformations.
+ Analyze and interpret simulation results to assess material behavior.
+ Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate research outcomes.

What We Can Offer
The hire rate for this part-time position is $20.00-$30.00 per hour.
