Northrop Grumman’s **Defense Systems** is currently seeking a **Systems Engineer level 2 or 3** to support our cutting edge technology **AARGM** missile program with our talented **Advanced Weapons team** .
_The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA. Relocation assistance, although not guaranteed, may be available._
The ideal candidate will have experience in systems engineering lifecycle of missile / weapon system development program(s), supporting requirements development / verification activities, sell-off, and production. They will have experience in planning, budgeting, executing and progress reporting for engineering teams. This candidate will work directly with the program’s Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) serving as a cost/control account manager while also supporting requirements management, requirement sell-off activities, and production support activities. As a Control Account Manager (CAM), this candidate will have a responsibility that comprises cost and schedule management for the engineering work scope and weekly interface with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, other engineering functions, as well as the customer and stakeholders.
In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
+ Serve as a cost account manager for the engineering functions
+ Partner with the program IPT leads to ensure effective planning and execution of their individual work scope and tracking progress through completion
+ Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Integration & Test Lead, Software Engineering Lead, program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.
+ Identify and mitigate execution risks to engineering development on the program
+ Provide systems engineering support as part of a trouble shooting team with subject matter experts on other areas, e.g., sensor/radar, software, mechanical, electrical, and material properties
+ Determine the staffing needed to execute quantifiable backup data
+ Present execution plan and progress to the customer community and program leadership
+ Create reports explaining cost and schedule variances
+ Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives
+ Present execution plan and progress to the customer community and program leadership
+ Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities
+ Support systems engineering metrics and technical performance measurement tracking
Basic qualifications for a Systems Engineer level (T02):
+ Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development, requirements verification, and engineering production activities.
+ Must have proven experience in communicating with peers in a detailed, and process-oriented fashion.
+ Must have demonstrated experience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems under general supervision.
+ Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s).
+ Experience in root cause correction action process and execution.
+ Experience in technical documentation.
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Basic qualifications for a Systems Engineer level (T03):
+ Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development and requirements verification activities; or Master of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of systems engineering experience with any exposure to requirements development, requirements verification, and engineering production activities.
+ Must have proven experience in communicating with peers in a detailed, and process-oriented fashion.
+ Must have demonstrated experience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems under general supervision.
+ Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s).
+ Experience in root cause correction action process and execution.
+ Experience in technical documentation.
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering approach.
+ Experience working in the defense industry or weapon systems
+ Experience in systems engineering tools, such as DOORS, CAMEO.
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
