Description
Lead the development, implementation, and execution of global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities to achieve broad based business objectives. Responsibilities include setting vision and ensuring the implementation of the procurement strategies across Brands and the Supply Chain.
Support the management of our Joint Value Creation partners focused on mutual revenue growth, ensuring first access to innovation and margin optimization. Responsible for managing 150 million in packaging spend and one manager.
+ Working collaboratively throughout the supply chain to drive cost, quality and supply improvements through Supplier management, standardization, and negotiations for assigned commodities.
+ Develop, advocate, and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodities to achieve short and long⁃term objectives, working closely with related internal departments (i.e. R&D, Packaging, Marketing) to ensure that GSR commitments meet all internal requirements.
+ Support cross⁃functional management/enablement of our Joint Value Creation relationships with key partners.
+ Lead cross Brand Supplier negotiations to ensure best overall cost position for the Organization for assigned commodities. Negotiate, develop and approve contracts, agreements, supplier direction and business awards.
+ Responsible for the overall strategic supplier relationship to insure a collaborative working relationship throughout the Supply Chain.
+ Maintain a deep understanding of industry best practices and technology trends and educate team members and business partners as needed.
+ Work with relevant internal departments on strategies related to changing global regulatory compliance requirements and environmental best practices.
+ Develop and lead the strategy to mitigate Supplier and industrial risks within assigned commodities.
+ Utilize the tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies. Work collaboratively with team members toprioritize and drive implementation.
+ Lead the budget process across Brands for assigned commodities.
+ Support sustainability efforts within assigned commodities.
+ In collaboration with the innovation groups, evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and markets as dictated by business requirements.
More specifically for the secondary and tertiary packaging portfolio, lead the team to:
+ Develop a pricing methodology (formula, tier pricing...) with converters that deliver transparency, competitiveness, stability and ease of implementation.
+ Develop a methodology with Material Management to find the best balance between order quantities and cost and design a process for a regular review of the MOQ considering cost vs. inventory/E&O.
+ Focus on new printing technologies and supply process that could deliver shorter lead⁃time, smaller runs, supply security, late⁃stage differentiation. Work on solutions for speed to market during development process (new launches).
+ Seek for solution on plastic sustainability (PCR, Ocean Plastics, etc.).
+ Define a material strategy to ensure capacity, security of supply, lead⁃time, certification and best value for money. Review packaging format harmonization and plastic supply chain with converters.
+ Recommend and execute best network design in terms of total cost (including inventory, E&O, transport...) and lead⁃time, and draft an updated sourcing strategy with adequate supply base (technical capabilities, competitiveness, location, turnkey options...).
Qualifications
+ Have experiences in a packaging procurement global category role, covering primary rigid plastic packaging
+ Preferably have management experience
+ Must be a fact based decision maker, pragmatic, resourceful, and proactive
+ Must have a “can-do” and “will-do” attitude with respect to accomplishing goals, making the numbers, and satisfying the needs of internal and external customers
+ Minimum 8 years of experience
