Job Summary

Blue Rock Bar and Grill is seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our bustling kitchen team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. The Dishwasher will support the kitchen staff by keeping the workspace organized and ready for service, contributing to the seamless delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to maintain a steady supply for the kitchen and dining staff.

• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, sinks, and dishwashing stations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

• Assist with basic kitchen tasks during slower periods, such as helping the Prep Cook with simple food prep or organizing storage areas.

• Dispose of waste properly, including separating recyclables, compost, and trash, and maintaining a clean waste disposal area.

• Monitor and report low levels of cleaning supplies, such as detergents or sanitizers, to the Sous Chef or kitchen manager.

• Support the kitchen team by ensuring pots, pans, and other cooking equipment are cleaned and ready for use during busy service periods.

• Collaborate with line cooks and other staff to maintain a smooth workflow, especially during high-volume shifts (FIFO – First In, First Out).

• Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned, such as sweeping and mopping kitchen floors or cleaning storage areas, to keep the kitchen in top condition.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 16 years of age or older.

• Prior experience as a dishwasher is preferred but not required; a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices is a plus.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle repetitive tasks in a hot and humid environment.

• Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

• Availability to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility for banquet or catering events as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 16 years of age. Previous knowledge of food service preferred. Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. On-the-job training will be provided.

Depending upon location of hire, Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame.
