    Job Title- Senior Geospatial Analyst – Map Operations

     

    Job Location- Hybrid (3 days in office)- Deerfield, Illinois, USA

     

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Senior Geospatial Analyst** with strong expertise in Linux/Unix environments, middleware technologies, and database management. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing geospatial data operations, supporting system performance, and resolving technical issues across platforms. This role demands a proactive problem-solver with excellent command-line skills and a deep understanding of incident and service request management.

     

    In this role, you will

    System & Environment Management

    + Operate efficiently in Linux/Unix environments with strong command-line interpretation skills.

    + Manage file systems, folder structures, and perform secure file transfers.

    + Edit and manipulate files using advanced Linux/Unix tools and commands.

    Middleware & Integration

    + Work within TUXEDO and Service Broker environments to support middleware operations.

    + Execute and troubleshoot TUXEDO and Service Broker commands.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of middleware technologies.

    Database & Querying

    + Perform advanced SQL queries and manage relational databases.

    + Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

    + Ensure data integrity and optimize database performance.

    Incident & Problem Management

    + Handle incidents, problems, and service requests with accountability for resolution.

    + Lead root cause analysis and implement workarounds or permanent fixes.

    + Facilitate and chair investigation meetings and conference calls during outages.

    Stakeholder & Communication Management

    + Provide timely and effective communication to key stakeholders during incidents.

    + Maintain transparency and clarity in reporting and updates.

    + Develop and deliver periodic incident metrics and performance reports.

    Process Improvement & Documentation

    + Continuously improve tools, processes, and knowledge bases for incident management.

    + Document technical procedures and maintain a comprehensive knowledge repository.

    + Support process standardization and automation initiatives.

    Performance Monitoring & Innovation

    + Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve user experience.

    + Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

    + Align IT infrastructure with business needs in the payer domain.

    + Stay current with emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

    What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Geospatial Technology, or related field.

    + 5+ years of experience in a technical analyst or system operations role.

    + Certifications in ITIL, Linux, or database technologies are a plus.

    + Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and command-line tools.

    + Experience with TUXEDO and Service Broker middleware platforms.

    + Advanced SQL querying and database management skills.

    + Solid understanding of incident, problem, and service request management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

    + Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills across Linux, SQL, and Windows platforms.

    + Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    Preferred skills: what will help you stand out

    + Experience in geospatial data systems or map-based applications.

    + Familiarity with IT infrastructure in the payer domain.

    + Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and automation frameworks.

    Salary and Other Compensation:

    The annual salary for this position is between $79,001 to $92,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

     

    This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
