TheExecutive Staff Officerprovides high-level administrative and operational support within the Office of the Secretary at the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH). This role serves as a key assistant to the Deputy Undersecretary, coordinating with the Secretary, Undersecretary, LDH program offices, and Executive Management to ensure efficient communication, workflow, and execution of departmental priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree, or a Juris Doctorate, plus two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Serve as the primary administrative assistant to the Deputy Undersecretary, providing high-level support to the Secretary, Undersecretary, and executive management team.
+ Coordinate meetings and ensure assigned action items are documented, tracked, and completed in a timely manner.
+ Prepare and compile reports, testimony, and other materials for the Deputy Undersecretary’s use in legislative and agency matters.
+ Monitor fiscal note statuses, prepare related documentation, and coordinate responses to inquiries on behalf of the Deputy Undersecretary.
+ Provide consultation and technical assistance to administrative operations programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness across HR, Fiscal, Budget, Facilities, and Purchasing units.
+ Perform advanced administrative tasks, including preparing confidential reports, correspondence, and policy-related materials for executive-level review.
