Your Job:
Job Purpose: The primary purpose of the Data System Administrator position is to plan, coordinate, implement and maintain information systems for Materials Management. Plans projects, develops timelines, and provides leadership and direction for overall systems management. Works closely with the Finance, I/T and A/P departments to maintain the integration of systems. Works closely with procurement and warehousing staff to ensure the integrity of Materials Management systems. Provides all daily technical support of MMIS, EDI and fax server data systems. Plans and provides leadership and direction for system upgrades and other system activities. Creates complex query tools and reports based on requests from leadership as necessary. Plans and directs system enhancements in tandem with Materials Management leadership. Works with software vendors to resolve issues when issues arise. Acts as SQL Server Administrator when necessary.
• Baccalaureate Degree preferred
• Experience implementing and maintaining MMIS may be substituted for college degree
Your Job Responsibilities :
• Decision Support: Collects data and provides analyses related to all aspects of departmental operations, and materials management functions in general. Designs data collection tools and reporting methodology to effectively communicate trends/information related to all aspects of materials management functions. Creates complex query tools and reports based on requests from leadership as necessary.
• Education: Provides end-user training on the Materials Management system. Inservices and trains Materials Management STAFFs needed for system upgrades and enhancements. Assists other departments as needed for training issues related to the system.
• Project Management: Defines and identifies major project opportunities in tandem with department leadership. Plans, assembles and directs project teams. Identifies appropriate resources, assigns individual responsibilities and develops project schedules relative to Materials Management information system projects. Plans and provides leadership and direction for system upgrades and other system activities. Represents MHS in a professional, prudent and ethical manner when working with vendor representatives, thus ensuring good hospital image and supplier relations.
• System Support: Provides ongoing system support for the Materials Management information systems, including interfaces with EDI, fax server, Premier and the MHS G/L. Maintains files and databases, problem solves, develops workarounds, performs upgrades, etc. as required. Works with software vendors to resolve issues when issues arise. Participates in or conducts other Materials Management related projects as assigned.
• Systems Administration: Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the information systems for Materials Management. Plans projects, develops timelines and provides leadership and direction for the overall maintenance of the system. Acts as SQL Server Administrator when necessary. Maintains requisition approval chains and other foundational system tables within all modules of the MMIS (Materials Management, Accounts Payable, Finance, etc.).
