As a n Executive Director Software Engineering on NCR’s API Platform team, you will deliver API’s that enable customers, partners, and NCR developers to solve real world problems efficiently. You will work with latest cloud technologies including GKE, Cloud Service Mesh , Apigee, and more to enable billions of API calls per month . We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for building systems that scale with great customer experiences . You will manage more than 80 engineers across 6 teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with proven successes as a Platform Engineer . You will help grow and lead high performing teams of engineers who will be developing RESTful API’s using latest development practices.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

+ Lead and mentor the engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

+ Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's vision.

+ Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.

+ Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the department.

+ Collaborate with SRE team to maintain high uptime SLAs

+ Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

+ Manage the engineering budget, resources, and staffing.

+ Promote a culture of accountability and high performance.

+ Recruit, retain , and develop high-performing talent.

+ Effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering or a related field

+ Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role managing other managers

+ 10+ years in software development leading teams in SaaS-based solutions

+ Strong technical background with API based microservice architecture

+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams

+ Strategic thinker with a track record of driving innovation

+ Knowledge of industry standards and best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Good understanding of Restaurant and Retail industry domain s

+ Google and Azure Cloud experience

+ Experience in Java, Node, Kubernetes , RESTful APIs

+ Understanding of multi-region and multi-cloud architecture

+ Passion for continuous learning and can keep up with industry trends

+ Ability to effectively communicate with our customers
