Job Description:
The Corporate Quotations Specialist, reporting to the Corporate Quotations Manager, supports
all aspects of the corporate quotation’s activity to efficiently and cost-effectively
support each business unit.
Activities and responsibilities of the Corporate Quotations Specialist include:
Sourcing, quoting, and pricing items accurately, competitively, and profitably.
+ Utilize established pricing systems & sourcing procedures.
+ Communicate effectively with AFC Industries colleagues at all levels on quote opportunities to obtain information to enhance our chances of obtaining the business.
+ Updates Quote Log with current information and status of quotations.
+ Analyze quotation/supplier information to offer most competitive and profitable response.
+ Negotiate with suppliers to provide best cost / lead time / and terms on a quotation.
+ Support, monitor and ensure compliance to internal purchasing policies, procedures and best practices.
+ Develop expertise and knowledge as it relates to product and supplier capabilities.
+ Identify and source new suppliers as needed.
+ Utilizes supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability.
+ Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
+ Facilitate timely responses to quotations to the Sales Dept, ensuring an on-time, accurate, and competitive response to all customer pricing inquiries.
+ Perform other functions and projects as directed by the Corporate Quotations Manager.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Professional Experience Requirements:
**Education** :
+ High School diploma required.
+ College degree in business, materials management, operations management, engineering or related field a strong plus.
Work Experience:
+ 5+ years minimum experience in fastener industry or industrial distribution preferred.
+ Knowledge of import sources a strong plus.
+ Strong negotiation skills.
+ Working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to procurement and contracts.
+ Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems often required.
+ Financial acumen.
+ High competency level in MS Office applications.
