    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High school diploma/GED

    + Experience in data entry operations

    + Other job-related education and/or experience may substitute for all or part of the basic requirements upon approval of the interview committee.

     

    REPORTS TO: Route Supervisor - Transportation

     

    JOB GOAL: Effectively manage assigned resources by providing central dispatch for school bus operations via mobile radio system.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBIUTIES:

    + Supervise and operate mobile radio system in accordance with FCC rules and regulations.

    + Provide input in the supervision, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions of Drivers and Aides.

    + Supervise scheduling of buses and assign drivers for activity trips during and after school hours.

    + Coordinate emergency response with public safety agencies as needed.

    + Serve as liaison between drivers, school staff, and supervisors.

    + Assist in answering telephones and addressing patron questions concerning school bus routes.

    + Assist with selection and training of substitute school bus drivers.

    + Transmit safety messages to drivers and aides via the radio system.

    + Assist in entering and retrieving data from school bus routing system.

    + Coordinate with operations specialist school staff, and others responsible for scheduling extra-curricular trips.

    + Assist Administrators in designing efficient school bus routes and assigning buses.

    + Prepare correspondence and eports as needed for the Director of Transportation.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Salary Range: Range 9 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($14.57 hr. - $26.45 hr.) depending on relevant experience)

     

    Length of Contract: 244 contract days

     

    FLSA Status: Non-exempt

     

    Personnel Status: Classified

    EVALUATION:

    Performance of this job will be evaluated according to the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
