Summary:
The Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) will work as part of the Strategic Insights team to turn data into actionable information for caregivers. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of BI Developers and Sr. Developers in delivering innovative analytics solutions that support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day team operations, prioritizing tasks, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of BI deliverables. Working with the Director, Strategic Insights the Manager will play a key role in evolving analytic capabilities across the enterprise, advancing the organization’s data strategy, fostering innovation, and promoting a culture of data-driven excellence.
Experience:
+ 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data science.
+ 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a BI or analytics team.
+ Proven experience in designing and deploying BI solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Epic Clarity, and Qlik Sense.
+ Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL processes.
+ Experience working with healthcare data and familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic) preferred.
+ Knowledge of data governance principles and healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), preferred.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
+ High attention to detail and commitment to data quality and integrity.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field required.
+ Master’s degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
+ Epic Certification in Clarity/Caboodle Data Model preferred.
+ Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst, Fabrics Analytics Engineer, or Fabrics Data Engineer preferred.
+ Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DM-BOK) is a plus.
Essential Functions:
+ BI Team Leadership & Management
+ Supervise and mentor BI Developers and Sr. BI Developers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
+ Manage daily team operations, including task assignments, workload balancing, and performance monitoring.
+ Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align priorities.
+ Provide regular updates to the Director, Strategic Insights on team status.
+ Project & Task Prioritization
+ Oversee the intake, scoping, prioritization, and tracking of BI requests and projects.
+ Ensure timely delivery of analytics solutions that meet business needs and quality standards.
+ Coordinate with the Director, Strategic Insights to align team efforts with organizational goals.
+ Stakeholder Engagement
+ Serve as a liaison between the BI team and internal stakeholders, including clinical, operational, and technical leaders.
+ Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into actionable analytics initiatives.
+ Communicate project status, timelines, and outcomes clearly and effectively.
+ Analytics Strategy & Oversight
+ Work with the Director, Strategic Insights to align and evolve team capabilities in line with the strategic goals of the organization.
+ Guide the development and deployment of dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics solutions.
+ Aligning with the enterprise data strategy, ensure consistency in data modeling, visualization standards, and documentation across the team.
+ Promote alignment with the overall enterprise data strategy and industry best practices in analytics design, performance optimization, and user experience.
+ Data Governance & Quality Assurance
+ Support the Data Governance team and data governance initiatives by enforcing standards for data integrity, security, and compliance.
+ Collaborate with IT, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
+ Monitor and improve data quality processes, including validation, cleansing, and enrichment.
+ Innovation & Advanced Analytics
+ Encourage the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, cloud analytics).
+ Oversee the development of predictive models and other advanced analytics use cases.
+ Evaluate the impact of analytics solutions and recommend enhancements.
+ Documentation & Training
+ Ensure comprehensive documentation of BI solutions, processes, and governance protocols.
+ Promote data literacy and provide training to stakeholders on BI tools and data interpretation.
