How this opportunity is different
Aon is home to human capital data of a scale and breadth found in few other places, allowing you to participate in developing market-leading insights that shape how companies manage their people and their business. We collect detailed, employee-level data on an array of attributes directly from employers that covers a significant share of the US and global workforce in technology, life sciences, financial services, and other sectors. In addition, we are rapidly ingesting a wide variety of other labor market-relevant data in structured and unstructured forms. We are looking for a Director of Data Science to lead a team extracting novel insights from this unique trove of data.
What the day will look like
+ Manage and mentor a team of data scientists in the US and offshore, in developing and delivering data-driven solutions that address clients’ most important human capital challenges
+ Use your deep technical expertise and awareness of the latest developments to lead the team to the best data science approaches for solving business problems
+ Design, build, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address key human capital challenges
+ Oversee the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate workforce trends and insights to senior leadership in clear, actionable terms.
+ Establish and maintain best practices in data management, governance, and documentation to support scalability and sustainability
+ Drive continuous improvement in communication and workflow between onshore and offshore teams to deliver client-ready solutions
+ Collaborate with analytics leaders across regions and business lines to align priorities, allocate resources, and ensure high-value outcomes
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ Proven track record of developing and implementing advanced analytical solutions in a human capital or HR context.
+ Proficiency with Python
+ Knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI
+ Experience with collaborative development environment like GitHub
+ Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred skills and Experience
+ Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field
+ Proven experience developing and deploying solutions using NLP and LLMs in data science workflows
+ Experience with data privacy techniques such as differential privacy
+ Experience with advanced survey techniques such as discrete choice or conjoint analysis

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $175,000 - $215,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
