    Job Description

    BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to join us as a Functional, Leadership, and Change Employee Communications Specialist. In this role, you'll support the development and delivery of communication strategies that help employees understand business priorities, equip leaders to communicate effectively, and guide employees through organizational change. Reporting to the Functional, Leadership, and Change Communications Manager, you will work closely with functional leaders and teams, project teams, and internal communications colleagues to craft clear, engaging, and actionable messages and content that connect employees to company strategy and transformation initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Partner with sectors and functional teams to create clear and engaging communication materials that bring strategies and initiatives to life.

    + Responsible for Inc. HQ communications, including local updates, messages, and intranet.

    + Draft and publish content for a variety of channels including intranet, newsletters, and digital platforms.

    + Support virtual and in-person functional meetings, town halls, and leadership updates.

    + Draft leader messages, presentations, and talking points that convey vision, strategy, and progress.

    + Help leaders prepare for key engagements such as town halls, employee meetings, and enterprise announcements.

    + Partner with internal communications teams to ensure leadership messaging is consistent across channels.

    + Support communications plans for organizational changes, including technology rollouts, process improvements, and cultural initiatives.

    + Develop FAQs, toolkits, and employee-friendly content that makes change clear and actionable.

    + Collaborate with project and HR teams to understand employee impacts and address concerns.

    + Track communication effectiveness through metrics surveys and employee feedback, recommending ways to improve clarity, engagement, and reach.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

     

    Bachelor s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field with 6 years experiene (4 years with advanced degree)

     

    + Experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or change communications.

    + Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with ability to simplify complex concepts.

    + Experience supporting leaders with message development and delivery.

    + Familiarity with change management principles and employee engagement strategies.

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented team player.

    + Proven experience with digital platforms and channels (e.g. intranet, Microsoft 365, Slack/Teams, SharePoint).

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + AP Style guru.

    + Change management certification (ProSci or other).

    + Visual storyteller with experience developing print materials, digital signage, presentations, infographics, etc.

    + Comfortable working with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

    + Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment.

    + Curious, resourceful, and eager to learn.

    + Passionate about helping employees feel informed, connected, and engaged.

    + Previous experience in the aerospace, defense, or technology industries.

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $99410 - $168997

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
