    BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to join us as the Director of Employee and Executive Communications. In this role, you'll shape and drive communication strategies that connect our mission, values, and business objectives. You'll work closely with senior leadership to craft clear, authentic messaging and content that inspires alignment, engagement, and motivation across the organization. This position reports to the Vice President of Employee & Executive Communications and will lead a team of Employee Communications professionals.

    Key Responsibilities

    People Leadership

    + Primary delegate for Vice President, Employee Communications and Engagement.

    + Lead and empower a high-performing team of managers and specialists to deliver innovative, measurable communications experiences that reach employees where they are and strengthen alignment across the enterprise.

    Strategic Messaging and Planning

    + Develop and roll out communication strategies that align with company and functional goals and priorities. Focus on creating clear, consistent, and impactful messages that support key initiatives and leadership priorities. Work closely across teams to make sure the messaging connects with a variety of audiences and reflects the company s values and mission.

    + Plan and execute communications for campaigns, events, and changes happening across the organization. Stay ahead of potential challenges and address communication needs early to ensure internal company alignment. Use data insights to fine-tune communication channels, engage stakeholders, and deliver real results.

    + Work closely with Strategic Communications team to highlight the company as an innovative and motivational force. Tell stories that inspire action and bring the company s vision and goals to life.

    People Communications

    + Set the strategic vision for enterprise employee engagement and communications channels, ensuring they advance culture, connection, and business priorities.

    + Lead people communication programs that boost employee engagement, share key initiatives, attract & retain top talent, and help build a motivated and connected team.

    Executive Communications

    + Provide strategic communications support to senior leaders, including CEO, helping them communicate vision, strategy, and progress with authenticity and impact.

    + Craft and edit leadership messages, presentations, and talking points.

    + Coach and advise leaders on effective communication styles and storytelling.

    + Plan and manage employee and leadership events such as town halls and enterprise-wide updates, including content development, leader preparation, logistics coordination, and post-event feedback to ensure engaging and impactful experiences.

    Cross-functional collaboration

    + Partner across Inc. functions and sectors to ensure consistent, streamlined messaging that reflects organizational priorities. Act as a trusted advisor to teams across the company to support cohesive communication efforts.

    + Serve as a communications advisor to functional leaders to help translate enterprise strategies and initiatives into clear, actionable messages for employees.

    + Develop and execute communications strategies to support organizational change initiatives, including technology rollouts, process improvements, and cultural transformations.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    Bachelor s degree in Communications, Marketing or similar field with 12 years (10 years with advanced degree)

    + Proven experience in corporate communications, specifically in employee engagement and executive messaging.

    + Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages.

    + Strong people leadership skills and experience with a demonstrated ability to manage high-impact projects and cross-functional teams.

    + Ability to think strategically, balancing long-term vision with day-to-day execution.

    + Adept at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a collaborative and professional attitude.

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + AP Style guru.

    + Visual storyteller with experience developing print materials, digital signage, presentations, infographics, etc.

    + Measurement and insights expertise.

    + Experience in HR-related communications and event support.

    + Experience in digital communications and content strategy, namely for company intranets and other employee communications channels.

    + Previous experience in the aerospace, defense, or technology industries.

    + Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
