Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and operational oversight to a Construction client. The CFO will be responsible for directing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. This role requires a proven ability to delegate effectively, mentor and develop finance team members, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Strategy
• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and capital allocation strategies.
• Oversee cash flow management, ensuring liquidity, optimizing working capital, and forecasting future cash requirements.
• Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to achieve organizational objectives.
• Manage risk through comprehensive analysis of company liabilities, investments, and insurance coverage.
Budgeting & Forecasting
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish budgetary goals and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Implement advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis to support decision-making.
• Monitor budget adherence, investigate variances, and implement corrective measures as needed.
Delegation & Team Leadership
• Build, mentor, and shape a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
• Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring clear ownership of tasks and projects across the finance department.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance.
Process Improvement & Compliance
• Evaluate and enhance internal controls, financial systems, and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax planning, audit standards, and industry-specific regulations.
• Oversee financial IT systems, driving automation and integration for improved reporting and data integrity.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as a key liaison between finance, operations, and executive leadership, communicating financial priorities and performance.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports for management, board meetings, and investor relations.
• Lead capital-raising initiatives, including debt and equity financing, and manage relationships with banks, investors, and auditors.

Skills and Requirements
• Minimum 5 years in executive financial leadership roles (CFO, VP Finance, Director of Finance).
• Demonstrated expertise in financial oversight, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Strong delegation skills, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and tax planning.
• Experience with financial IT systems (ERP, accounting software, BI tools).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience in mergers & acquisitions, investor relations, and capital raising.
• Background in construction accounting or industry-specific financial management.
