    Hourly range for RSAM Registered Nurses **$43.10-$67.03/ hour**

     

    + Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour

    Responsibilities*

    The Clinical Care Coordinator Nurse in the department of surgical specialties/urology is accountable for the delivery of culturally sensitive, age specific direct patient care, including, but not limited to:

    + Care coordination for patient and families in the department of urology in all subspecialty divisions.

    + Direct patient care of patients with complex urologic conditions

    + Direct patient care for the adult urology population during procedures in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment.

    + Direct patient care for patients scheduled for procedures on the nurse clinic grid, Botox clinic, performance of urodynamic studies on adult and pediatric urology patients, telephone triage, pre-operative and post-operative teaching, counseling and obtaining informed consent for a variety of urology surgical procedures, inbasket management for all urology divisions and other duties as assigned.

    + Care of patients transitioning from pediatric to adult urology care.

    + Collaboration with other health team members and associated resource person to ensure continuity of care across all care environments.

    + Willingness to adapt to different populations as adult and pediatric urology medicine demands. (Orientation and training provided for new subspecialties on expansion of divisions).

    + Adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives

    + Assistance in the development and implementation of competencies, protocols and patient education tools to improve patient care, and other duties assigned.

    + Assistance in precepting new staff nurses to the clinic.

    + Demonstrated ability to set and implement priorities, organize and delegate effectively and efficiently.

    + Demonstrate abilities in interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and problem-solving skill within all levels of the health care team.

    Salary & Nursing Framework Level:

    This UMPNC RN posting is posted under the Role-Specific Advancement Model (RSAM) as:

    CCC- COMPETENT.

     

    Actual RSAM LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.

     

    RSAM levels range from CCC-COMPETENT to CCC-EXPERT TO CCC-MASTERY

     

    Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

     

    Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.

     

    Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort.

     

    Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

    Required Qualifications*

    + Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.

    + Educational Requirement (Must meet one of the following)

    + Bachelors degree in Nursing OR

    + Associates degree/diploma in Nursing AND a Masters degree in Nursing.

    + Five (5) years of RN experience

    + Minimum five (5) years of RN experience with at least one (1) year of Adult Medical/Surgical Urology in the last 3 years.

     

    NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

    RESUME REQUIRED (for both internal & external applicants):

    You must attach a complete and accurate resume to be fully considered for this position.

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Experience with urologic procedures e.g. urodynamics, SP tube/Catheter changes, bladder instillations, Botox preparation, Vasectomies, Cystoscopies, etc.

    + Two (2) or more years (in last 5 years) caring for the adult urology population in the ambulatory care setting.

    + Two (2) years (in last 3 years) ambulatory care nursing experience in an adult surgical setting.

    + Ambulatory phone triage experience.

    + Demonstrated collaborative practice including commitment to self-directed and autonomous practice.

    + Demonstrated ability to maintain professional working relationships

    + Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in daily practice.

    + Two (2) or more years of recent (in last 5 years) experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC. Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Work Schedule

    + Hours: 40 hrs/wk, variable shifts, Monday through Friday. Potential Weekends and Holidays.

    + Shift: Days, Variable shifts. Flexibility in scheduling is required. This position is not a remote position.

    + Location: This position will support the Urology Service Line with 50% or greater at the Taubman Center Location.

    This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
