MEDIC's vision is to support emergency physicians working together to improve patient care. MEDIC is part of a family of projects called Collaborative Quality Initiatives (CQIs) within the Value Partnerships program (http://www.valuepartnerships.com/), making health care work better across the state of Michigan. MEDIC focuses on care decisions made in the emergency department and beyond for children and adults. Responsibilities*

+ Communicate issues of data validity or data collection to the Clinical Info Analyst Lead, including coordinating problem resolution

+ Contribute to communication with Data Abstractors, responding to questions regarding data variables and definitions and assuring that data collection concerns are addressed in a timely and consistent manner

+ Collaborate with MEDIC leadership to consider and develop pedagogically sound educational materials for use in MEDIC participating hospitals

+ Assist in collaborating with the data registry subcontractor in the ongoing design of the data registry, updating of the data dictionary, identifying MEDIC data abstraction needs, and planning for implementation of MEDIC's quality improvement program

+ Assist the MEDIC project team in measure development, protocol assessment and review, and data analysis policies and procedures

+ Assist the Clinical Info Analyst Lead and other Coordinating Center staff with implementation of quality improvement initiatives and other Coordinating Center activities
