Description

The Fairburn campus of Georgia Military College is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Bookstore Associate. The Fairburn Campus of GMC conducts a book rental program which requires detailed record keeping. Duties include checking out and receiving books through the POS system, daily cashier duties, maintaining store inventory, cleaning, organizing and restocking supplies, and assisting students in numerous ways. The bookstore often serves as an extension of other offices on campus, providing answers to frequently asked questions and providing contact information for other administrative areas. This position requires extended periods of standing and reaching over head to retrieve books and serve students. The position also requires the ability to use a step ladder and to lift at least 20 pounds.

This position is an hourly position, and its pay is commensurate with experience and educational background. Part-time positions at GMC start at $10.25 per hour.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

+ Highschool diploma

+ Cashier experience

+ Inventory/Retail experience

+ Demonstrated customer service experience

+ Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision

+ Ability to stand for long periods of time

+ Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and reach overhead

+ Ability to use a step ladder

Preferred qualifications:

+ Associate or Bachelor degree

+ Experience in a college bookstore

+ Experience with inventory protocol
