    Our Victoria, Texas (https://caterpillar.com/victoria) facility manufactures our world class excavator products for delivery to global customers and we cannot meet our customers’ needs without a strong supply chain. If you are an out-of-the-box thinking supply chain professional, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team and springboard your career as a **Supply Chain Planning Engineer!**

     

    As the Supply Chain Planning Engineer, you will be the primary resource in optimizing the diverse facility supply chain, directly impacting New Product Introductions, Engineering Changes, Plan for Every Part, Supplier Performance, and Inventory Strategies.

    What you can look forward to in this role:

    + Govern inventory levels and develop inventory strategies to ensure quickest machine availability.

    + Collaborate across functional teams, including material requirements team, demand and orders team, global purchasing, transportation, packaging, logistics, change management, quality, and operations.

    + Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for supply chain efficiency and low-cost solutions.

    + Own governance of all supply chain readiness functions and project planning including Supplier Resourcing/Onboarding, Sales & Operating Plan Readiness, Supply Chain Planning Parameters Readiness and Residual Scrap Surplus Material (RSSM) Avoidance

    + Steer Right Part, Right Time LEAN initiatives.

    A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

    + Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

    + Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

    + Engineering Management: Knowledge of engineering releasing practices; ability to identify basic product structure and interdependencies.

    + Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.

    + Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.

    Top Candidates for this position may also have:

    + A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in supply chain or a related curriculum or equivalent relevant experience.

    + Significant experience in supply chain.

    + Demonstrated experience using Data Analytics tools to connect data and concepts and use to recommend, develop and implement strategies.

    + A strong customer focus and urgency to satisfy needs of operations

    + A demonstrated ability to work independently to drive results.

    + A demonstrate ability to quickly learn how to navigate through all supply chain systems such as SAP Mach1, BOB-J, Assurance of Supply tools, Transportation tracking systems, and Global Purchasing systems.

    + Demonstrated creative thinking abilities.

    The primary location for this position is Victoria, TX.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $87,480.00 - $131,280.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
