CAH-Fiscal Services -Payroll Specialist – Full Time-Day Shift-Req 9009

Pay Range: $24.16-$31.40*

Job Summary

The Payroll Specialist is a proactive, detail-oriented role responsible for supporting payroll operations across both the ADP Run and UKG Ready platforms. You will independently manage a smaller ADP Run payroll while supporting two Payroll Clerks with complex biweekly payrolls processed through UKG Ready. This position involves essential timecard review, accuracy checks, and compliance auditing. Crucially, you will also lead projects focused on improving efficiency, such as configuring holiday schedules, building custom management reports, and developing training resources.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations & Support

+ Prepare and submit payroll for a small group of employees with accuracy and compliance.

+ Review and audit timecards for employees processed through ADP Run.

+ Support two Payroll Clerks by verifying and auditing biweekly timecards processed through UKG Ready.

+ Conduct secondary reviews of hours, job codes, and labor distributions to ensure payroll accuracy.

Payroll Projects & Efficiency Initiatives

+ Build and manage holiday schedules in payroll systems in collaboration with HR.

+ Create pre-built labor, attendance, and scheduling reports for department managers.

+ Develop training resources (guides, FAQs, videos) to assist managers with running their own reports and using timekeeping tools effectively.

+ Support process improvement initiatives within the payroll department to reduce errors and improve cycle time.

Auditing & Compliance

+ Conduct internal audits of timecard data for errors, missing punches, and overtime compliance.

+ Ensure adherence to federal/state labor laws and union contract terms.

+ Collaborate with the Payroll Manager, HR, and Accounting to ensure earnings/deductions codes are consistent across platforms.

Reporting & System Support

+ Assist in generating recurring reports for HR, Finance, and department leaders.

+ Help maintain accurate and up-to-date system configurations (e.g., pay codes, access permissions).

+ Document internal payroll procedures and workflows for continuity and training.

Qualifications

+ Required:

+ 5+ years of experience in payroll administration or support.

+ Hands-on experience with ADP Run and/or UKG Ready, or similar payroll/time systems.

+ Strong understanding of timecard processing, pay rules, and basic compliance.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filters, pivot tables, formulas).

+ Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments.

+ Preferred:

+ Experience supporting payroll in a multi-location or unionized environment.

+ Knowledge of FLSA, timekeeping policies, and payroll auditing best practices.

+ Experience building custom reports in payroll/time systems.

+ Experience delivering user training or creating user-facing job aids.
