    Position Summary:

    The Assistant Director of Advancement Communications & Engagement plays a key role in shaping and sharing the story of Arkansas State University through strategic communications, donor discovery, creative content, and event support. This position will develop and execute strategies that engage donors, alumni, and community members while producing donor profiles and supporting University Advancement, the Red Wolves Foundation, and Career Development with communications, design, and event management.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Donor Discovery & Profiles

    + Research and compile donor and prospect profiles to support Development officers in cultivation and solicitation.

    + Assist in identifying potential new donors through social media monitoring, engagement tracking, and alumni/donor activity.

    + Partner with Advancement Services to ensure donor data is accurate and integrated into Raiser's Edge.

    + Develop donor impact stories and profiles for use in print, digital, and campaign materials.

    Communications & Digital Strategy

    + Draft and distribute donor, alumni, and Advancement email communications.

    + Help manage social media accounts for University Advancement, Red Wolves Foundation, and Career Development.

    + Assist with Advancement website content and digital storytelling.

    + Collaborate with Development staff on targeted donor communications and campaigns.

    Creative & Graphic Design

    + Design print and digital materials including invitations, brochures, reports, signage, and social media graphics.

    + Maintain Advancement and RWF brand standards across all platforms.

    + Support campaign creative materials in alignment with institutional branding.

    Donor & Alumni Engagement

    + Assist in crafting donor communication strategies that highlight impact and philanthropy at A-State.

    + Create donor recognition stories and features for newsletters, web, and events.

    + Support campaigns to increase participation in the One-Pack and other giving programs.

    Event Management

    + Provide communications, design, and logistical support for Advancement and Red Wolves Foundation events, including fundraising events, donor recognition events, alumni engagement activities, and letterwinner programming.

    + Collaborate with event leads on planning, marketing, and execution.

    + Coordinate event photography, video, and follow-up communications.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent research and writing skills with the ability to create compelling donor profiles and stories.

    • Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent).

    • Experience with social media strategy and analytics.

    • Photography/videography basics

    • Maintain confidentiality of donor and prospect information in compliance with university and industry standards.

    • Familiarity with CRM platforms (experience with Raiser's Edge preferred).

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Event planning and on-site support experience.

    • Highly collaborative, adaptable, and donor-centered mindset.

    General Days/Hours:

    Monday - Friday

    8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    An earned Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field required.

     

    2–4 years of experience in communications, donor relations, or advancement (higher education or nonprofit preferred).
