Talent Acquisition Specialist
Salary:$50,000-54,000/per year
Schedule:Full-Time, On-Site,6–9 Month Contract (with potential for extension)
TheRecruiterplays a vital role in advancing our mission by identifying and engaging people who are passionate about creating lasting impact. This position researches, develops, and implements inclusive and values-driven recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of talented, mission-aligned individuals who will help move our organization and community forward.
What You’ll Do
+ Lead full-cycle recruitment — from job posting to onboarding — with a focus on equity and inclusion.
+ Partner with hiring managers to create job descriptions that reflect both role needs and organizational values.
+ Source diverse and mission-aligned candidates through creative outreach, community partnerships, and digital platforms.
+ Coordinate interviews, communicate with candidates, and guide hiring teams through the selection process.
+ Track candidate pipelines and recruitment metrics in our applicant tracking system (ATS).
+ Represent the organization at career fairs, community events, and other recruitment opportunities.
+ Support employer branding and workforce development initiatives that reflect our movement and mission.
Who We’re Looking For
+ Passion for people and purpose — and a belief in building equitable workplaces.
+ 2–4 years of recruiting or HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
+ Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
+ Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple searches with care and attention to detail.
+ Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, and sourcing tools.
+ Knowledge of inclusive hiring practices and employment law.
+ Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and local residency (Buffalo area) required.
+ Flexible to work evenings or weekends; Spanish language skills a plus.
Contract Term
6–9 months, full-time, with potential for renewal based on organizational needs and performance.
This position is ideal for a skilled recruiter who enjoys building systems, strengthening teams, and making an immediate impact. The role will support our recruitment and hiring efforts during a critical phase of expansion. The position plays a key part in ensuring we bring on mission-aligned, values-driven talent.
