Job Description
The objective of the US Demand Planning team is to monitor and maintain the stability of Abbvie products in the U.S. supply channel, ensure the equitable allocation of product to customers and provide business insights on product purchase trends across key brands. The primary areas of focus for the Demand Planning organization are to interact with key stakeholders involved in both the production and order fulfillment of product in the supply chain, administer applicable Wholesaler Distribution Service Agreements, manage wholesaler data for sales analytics, and provide wholesaler purchase trend insights on “to-market” brand performance.
This position will primarily support 11 Regional Wholesalers and Demand Planning Systems, while also assisting the Associate Director with Balance Sheet and Audit & Compliance Support. The Finance Lead will need to develop strong knowledge of the business across his/her area of responsibility and must objectively determine the impact of changing business conditions on the order fulfillment process. The Finance Lead must have the ability to communicate concisely and proactively, while establishing effective cross functional relationships with Trade, Customer Service, Transportation, Warehousing, Forecasting and Operations.
Major Responsibilities:
I. Regional Wholesale Support:
+ Order Fulfillment: Perform review of product orders vs. historical customer purchase trends, customer inventory DOH levels of the brand and internal availability of product. Must possess the ability to quickly reach out to stakeholders, build consensus and execute under tight timelines.
+ Support the Administration of Distribution Service Agreements (DSA): Per contract terms, evaluate distributor business performance in the categories of purchase stability behavior, inventory DOH levels, order fulfillment rates to downstream customers and timely submissions/accuracy of product movement data submitted via EDI; calculate quarterly performance fees to determine amount earned or owed by the customer, and complete payment authorization process to ensure payment is issued to or received from the customer.
+ Reporting and Analytics: This position will be responsible for independently developing and maintaining reporting tools used to monitor and track daily and weekly submissions of product movement data submitted via EDI by distributors for all US products. These reports will provide insights of “to-market” sales performance and will be critical in assisting Trade in ensuring product availability across the distribution channel.
+ Allocation Reviews: This position will be responsible for reviewing the weekly/monthly Allocation (Purchase) Limits that are set at the specialty distributors for their customers. Such Allocations Limits provide stability in the purchasing patterns & help avoid speculative purchases resulting in a more stable supply/availability of AbbVie products.
II. Systems Support: The Demand Planning team utilizes standard financial systems such as BIP, BPC, and SAP, as well as multiple data repositories including Cognos/Fusion and IntegriChain. This position will support the Associate Director in maintaining accuracy and alignment across these platforms, troubleshooting data integrity issues, and contributing to key system initiatives and enhancements.
III. Balance Sheet Support: Serving as the backup to the Associate Director, this role would assist with various. Balance Sheet activities, including reconciliation of wholesale accrual balances to ensure liabilities are properly reflected, and forecasting future liabilities for all planning cycles (Plan, LRP, LBEs and Key Plus Minus).
IV. Audit & Compliance Support: This position will also assist the Associate Director with internal and external audit and compliance requests that span all aspects of Demand Planning activities while confirming adherence to established processes and maintaining thorough documentation for continued operational excellence.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or general business is required
+ 5-7 years overall business experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment, to include commercial finance, cost accounting, auditing, financial reporting or financial planning and analysis
+ Strong Microsoft Excel skills, SAP/BPC/BIP, Power BI, forecast modeling/scenario planning experience, data presentation skills and previous experience with PowerPoint is preferred
+ Problem solving and integrity are key competencies of this position
+ Working independently with the ability to shift priorities quickly
+ Clear analytical thinking combined with experienced judgement
+ Learning & understanding the distribution channel is critical in addition to working across various functional areas to develop action plans and execution
+ Knowledge of financial problem solving & analysis and translation of data into actionable business recommendations are essential to success in this position

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Salary: $94,000 - $178,500
