Software Engineer - AI Adoption

The Test & Measurement business unit is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Software Engineer to independently develop our advancements of AI adoption and internal development workflows. In this role, you will pursue continuous improvement opportunities by designing solutions and implementing advanced tooling and automation to empower all Test & Measurement R&D engineers worldwide. You will have significant autonomy to shape and execute strategies that enhance development productivity and modernize engineering practices across our organization.
This is 4 days in the office and 1-day remote position.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for software development workflow improvements, tools, and AI integration initiatives across R&D.
• Lead AI-assisted development initiatives including code review automation, and AI-powered development tools integration.
• Architect and implement AI solutions for software development workflows, including internal chat enhancements, MCP server integrations, and template-based chat deployments.
• Develop AI adoption strategies for software development efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI tools into existing Azure DevOps workflows and development ecosystems.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using AI for code security, automated testing, and development best practices.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on AI tools, modern development practices, and workflow optimization.
• Stay current with AI and LLM landscape trends to inform technology strategy and tool selection.
Position Requirements
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in software development
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and modern CI/CD practices
• AI development experience
• Understanding of AI and LLM landscape, including tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar platforms, as well as experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, knowledge base integration, and proficiency in prompt engineering
• Experience with chatbot development, MCP servers, and AI tool integrations
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or experience in full stack web development
• Passionate about continuous improvement and workflow optimization
