Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at HCA Healthcare, you’ll improve the lives of patients by providing individualized care that restores mobility and independence. Supported by well-defined processes, caseloads that let you focus on patients, and a strong partnership with your team and supervising PTs, you’ll deliver high-quality care with confidence and impact. Your responsibilities will include:

+ Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility

+ Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function

+ Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care

+ Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs

+ Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence

Requirements:

+ Associate degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

+ Clear/active State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license

+ Current Functional Independence Measure (FIM) required

+ Experience in appropriate healthcare setting – inpatient rehab – preferred

+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

+ Critical thinking and adaptability; services excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; general PC skills

+ Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting patients and /or equipment up to 50 pounds

**HCA Florida Blake Hospital** is a 380+ bed hospital located in Bradenton, FL. We have a thirteen acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We have received verification by the American College of Surgeons. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement and inpatient rehabilitation. We are a recipient of the American Heart Association’s Gold Fit Friendly Designation. We have an onsite day care program, Happy Cubs, a 24 hour employee fitness center and a healthy work environment.
