    + **Facility:** BayCare Health System – Respiratory Service Care Float

    + **Location:** Varies

    + **Status:** Pool, Exempt: No

    + **Shift Hours:** 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (4 shifts a month schedule)

    + **Shift:** Nights (Shift 3)

    + **Weekend Work:** Occasional

    + **On Call:** No

    Job Summary

    Utilizes the department’s scope of services to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as an integral member of the healthcare team. Delivers respiratory care services under physician orders and in accordance with hospital protocols. Functions independently in situations requiring clinical judgment and performs both noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal oversight.

    Responsibilities

    + Deliver respiratory care services under physician orders and hospital protocols.

    + Perform diagnostic testing and respiratory assessments.

    + Execute noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal supervision.

    + Provide safe, effective care across multiple patient care settings.

    Certification and Licensure Required

    + Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

    + **Additional Certifications:**

    + BLS (Basic Life Support)

    + ACLS (within 6 months)

    + PALS (within 6 months if pediatric care)

    + NRP (within 6 months if neonatal care)

    Education Required

    + Technical Respiratory Therapy Program Completion

    + **Preferred:** Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy

    Specific Skills Required

    + Ability to perform diagnostic testing and advanced respiratory evaluations

    + Clinical judgment in unsupervised patient care situations

    + Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    + Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
