Job Summary and Qualifications

This consulting-level position with the Clinical Data and Interoperability team in the Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) department is responsible for advancing data usability to support MEDITECH Expanse platform implementation. The role ensures that high-quality, normalized, and usable data is consistently available to consumers and systems.

Data usability is focused on the real-world consumption of data by clinicians, data scientists, administrators, and report writers. These consumers have varying levels of technical competence and clinical expertise, and this role bridges that gap by interpreting clinical workflows, normalizing data, and ensuring alignment with standards.

The Expanse Data Usability Analyst partners with business and product owners, subject matter experts in clinical domains, and technical teams to define requirements, develop data models, and participate in terminology normalization. The position contributes to both foundational data products and use case–specific solutions, with particular emphasis on the company-wide implementation of the MEDITECH Expanse electronic medical record.

Success in this role requires a collaborative mindset, strong communication, and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in data usability.

Responsibilities

+ Provide expertise in Expanse clinical workflows and data structures

+ Provide clinical data usability expertise to business partners developing data products and use case–specific solutions

+ Partner with leaders, business owners, analysts, project managers and technical solution providers across the company to define and satisfy their data usability needs

+ Apply healthcare coding knowledge to normalize terminology by creating and maintaining code maps

+ Support product, field and leadership teams with testing and validation of data products and use-case specific solutions

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare discipline required; Master’s Degree a plus

+ Healthcare/hospital experience preferred (in clinical, Health Information Management, or billing)

+ 3-7 years of relevant experience, at least 2 years clinical informatics experience preferred

+ Experience with EHRs (MEDITECH, EPIC, Cerner), EHR build and implementation a plus

+ Clinical coding experience desirable

+ Data and workflow analysis experience preferred

+ Some travel may be required

+ Position located in Nashville, Tennessee
