This position is responsible for building strong business understanding and relationships to enable the delivery of solutions that deliver business value. The candidate in this role will join the Agile Transformation Office/Agile Studio. The Senior Technical Product Engineer will play a pivotal role in creating detailed user stories that are ready for development, enriched with data-driven insights and AI/ML-powered recommendations. This includes prioritizing features based on business value and leveraging machine learning models to forecast impact and optimize delivery.
This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical and organizational skills to transform data into actionable insights, detail requirements, and develop products using clear, easy-to-digest metrics that resonate with the business. Experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Azure ML) is highly desirable to support predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and enhanced reporting capabilities. While a deep knowledge of PNR, Tickets and Order servicing is not necessary, previous experience will be a plus. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, business maturity, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Conduct sophisticated and detailed research of existing processes, systems, and desired objectives to meet the goal/intent of the assigned products.
• Work with Product Manager and SMEs to prioritize feature development based on business value, supported by AI-driven impact analysis.
• Elicit and create initial requirements/user stories at both epic and story levels that clearly describe functional/non-functional requirements.
• Deliver business requirements via artifacts such as epics, features, scenarios, acceptance criteria-based user stories, process flows, wireframe diagrams, interaction diagrams, mockups/demos.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams/vendors as a liaison to develop frameworks and prototypes, integrating AI/ML capabilities where applicable.
• Conduct walkthroughs and multi-functional team demos of frameworks/prototypes, including demonstrations of AI-powered features.
• Perform conformity testing, bug triage, and enhancements, ensuring AI models are validated and issues are resolved before promoting to production environments.
• Align work across multiple initiatives and balance constantly evolving priorities, using machine learning to identify trends and optimize resource allocation.
• Use data and AI-generated artifacts to convey salient impact and support process-driven solutions.
• Develop problem statements with clear descriptions and improvement measures, leveraging predictive analytics and ML models to propose data-backed solutions.
• Collaborate with data science teams to integrate machine learning models into product features, enabling smarter decision-making and personalized user experiences.
• Utilize AI tools to automate report generation, uncover hidden patterns in operational data, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Supply guidance to project planning and effort estimation within scope.
• Support the identification of risks and mitigation approaches.
• Ability to collaborate with, as well as develop and maintain internal customer relationships with business unit leaders.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
• Proven experience as Technical Product Engineer or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of IT and/or Business experience
• Analytical mind with excellent data collection and analysis skills
• Demonstrated skills in process mapping, analytical, technical, and proven problem-solving skills
• Strong communication, relationship management, and influencing skills needed to work in partnership with internal teams
• Extensive knowledge of product and software development techniques and agile methodologies
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a project manager, product owner or equivalent.
• Knowledge of concepts and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.
• Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology or service from feasibility through to production.
• Knowledge of tools, methods, techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit analyze record required business functionality non-functionality requirements ensure success system software development project.
• Strong written oral communication social skills
• Must have excellent planning organizational skills strong verbal written communication facilitation skills
• Must be performing satisfactorily present position
• Solid Understanding Agile/SDLC development methodologies
• Flexibility to adapt and align with changing business objectives
• Consistently prioritizes safety security self, others, personal data
• Embraces diverse people thinking styles
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
• DevOps experience including use Enterprise Agile planning solutions such as Agility.AI or similar
• Previous experience as Technical Product Expert including ownership of deliverables, development, and performance
• Airline Business experience as well as business process re-engineering
• Experience with enterprise software and working in agile teams
• AI/ML skills are preferred
