Description
Amazon is looking for a driven and experienced Communications Specialist to join its Stores Communications team supporting the Delivery Experience and Returns. In this role, you'll craft compelling narratives about how Amazon makes customers' lives easier, lead proactive storytelling efforts, and provide strategic communications support to the teams that innovate to make it easier and faster for customers receive and return items. This role can be based in Seattle, WA, or Arlington, VA.
Key job responsibilities
- Write and execute strategic communications plans to support Amazon’s delivery experience and returns narratives.
- Drive earned, owned, and social media coverage of Amazon's convenient delivery and returns options.
- Provide strategic communications guidance and support for business initiatives.
- Counsel business leaders on communications strategy.
- Work across internal stakeholders to deliver on objectives.
- Write messaging and talking points.
- Develop and write press release, media pitches, and owned channels content.
- Build and maintain relationships with media, including traditional and emerging outlets.
- Prepare forward-looking plans for emerging issues.
- Successfully manage fast-moving communications challenges, both proactively and reactively
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
- Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Experience working directly with media.
- Creative and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Solid judgment, particularly in narrow time frames.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
