    **Work Type:** Full-Time - 40 Hours per week (1.0 FTE)

    **Work Schedule:** 8-Hour Shifts - Monday to Friday

    **Pay Range:** $21.61 - $34.04 per hour

    Summary:

    The role of the Parent Liaison LIC Coordinator is to serve as a “parent to parent bridge” in the early intervention system while having the unique experience of parenting a child with special needs. Functions in a supervisory role of programs and projects related to the Parent Liaison component of the CFC grant. Participates in the development and provision of direct support to families. Provides consultation and resources to local early intervention providers and Child and Family Connections staff. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    * Bachelor degree in related field.

    • Possess the unique experience of parenting a child with special needs.

    • Knowledge of the developmental, physical, psychosocial and cognitive development of children 0-3 years.

    • Knowledge of and experience with early intervention and/or other services for children with special needs and their families.

    • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to network.

    • Possess the ability to work with different cultures and provide assistance to families with various barriers to care.

    • Possess optimal customer services skills, have a passion for supporting, and developing family systems.

    • Compassionate and respectful of diverse populations.

    • Be able to gather information and resources as needed by the Child and Family Connections department.

    • Leadership and interpersonal skills are integral to this position and the ability to coordinate activities with many disciplines toward one goal is essential.

    • Able to understand complex diagnosis and treatment information and use deductive reasoning, have good listening skills.

    • Able to collaborate and support the objectives of the Child and Family Connections grant.

    Preferred Job Qualifications:

    • Bilingual Spanish skills.

    Physical Demands:

    • Able to be active and travel locally, use of personal car.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborates with the Child and Family Connections team and community to promote family-centered policies and practices, participates in staff meetings, team and agency trainings and staff development.

    2. Provides parent to parent support throughout the early intervention process and serves as a member of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) team as needed.

    3. Develops and disseminates parent resources and referral information. Develops methods for parent involvement with Child and Family Connections including producing the Parent Welcome letter, the Parent Survey, and the Newsletter.

    4. Collaborates with the Social Emotional Specialist to build relationships that include providing information to families and coordinating information among multiple service providers. Maximizes the use of existing resources and refers families to needed services.

    5. Collaborates with Director on local and statewide projects and meetings designated to influence the operations of the local CFC office.

    6. Participates in the Local Interagency Committee activities and the recruitment of parent members.

    7. Participates in Child Find and Public Awareness activities.

    8. Completes special projects as identified by the community and Child and Family Connections needs assessments.
