Job Title: Project Engineer - Landfill
Job Description
Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields. Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications. Work independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, planning and coordinating work. Field work performed by high/driving in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to surveys/data gathering, CQA liner installations, inspections, etc. Office-based tasks include CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and permit applications. Business development will involve proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry-related conferences/trade shows. Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Responsibilities
+ Apply engineering and scientific principles in solid waste assignment areas.
+ Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and reports.
+ Create and submit permit applications.
+ Independently solve engineering or scientific problems.
+ Plan and coordinate project work.
+ Conduct fieldwork in varied terrains and weather conditions.
+ Perform surveys, data gathering, and CQA liner installations.
+ Conduct inspections.
+ Draft CAD designs and perform mathematical calculations.
+ Write reports and create site plans and facility diagrams.
+ Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation.
+ Meet with clients and attend industry conferences and trade shows.
+ Receive technical guidance and supervisory approval on complex projects.
Essential Skills
+ Project management
+ Construction and construction management
+ Design and project engineering
+ Landfill and civil engineering
+ Tennessee P.E. registration or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering
+ Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the solid waste industry
+ Competency in MS Office and environmental consulting software
+ Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in landfill gas management and air compliance
+ Proficiency in landfill design and permitting
+ Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D design software
Work Environment
The work environment includes both office-based tasks and fieldwork in varied terrains and weather conditions. Fieldwork will require driving and performing surveys, data gathering, and inspections. Office tasks involve CAD drafting, report writing, and business development activities. The position requires attending industry conferences and trade shows. A professional appearance is expected during client meetings and industry events.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr.
