Position Overview
This role is responsible for developing and implementing capital and non-capital initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing performance, increasing capacity, and enhancing capabilities for both new and existing products. The position collaborates with cross-functional internal teams, suppliers, customers, and consultants, supporting operations at the Faribault, MN and Tucson, AZ plants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Design and plan equipment layouts.
+ Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient production methods.
+ Maintain documentation using Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
+ Develop and review heat and mass balances, utility consumption, and equipment specifications.
+ Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes.
+ Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues.
+ Conduct tests and monitor production performance.
+ Support capital project development and execution.
+ Monitor data and report deviations from standards.
+ Manage capital projects, including change management and system modifications.
+ Provide direction to vendors and manage project resources.
+ Oversee project budgets and reconcile invoices.
+ Lead and coordinate project execution and startups.
+ Prepare visual documentation (charts, graphs, diagrams) for workflow and layout planning.
+ Support cost modeling and staffing projections for new products.
+ Manage change in manufacturing processes across lines 1–6.
+ Support R&D startups, new products, and reformulations.
+ Coordinate and deliver training to enhance personnel skills.
+ Evaluate data and write reports to validate or identify deviations.
+ Participate in daily production meetings to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities.
+ Guide development of centerlines for all products and lines.
+ Identify and address performance improvement opportunities using continuous improvement tools.
+ Identify capacity constraints and lead cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks.
+ Partner with Quality Assurance to support all quality programs ensuring safe, high-quality food production.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Experience
+ Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food production or FDA/USDA-regulated facility.
+ Proven experience in project management including budgeting, scheduling, contractor management, installation, and startup.
Additional Skills

+ Experience with SQF (Safe Quality Foods) programs.
+ Knowledge of sensory attributes and food safety.
+ Experience in thermal processing and canning is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
