    Job Title: Reliability EngineerJob Description

     

    As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and robustness of ground combat vehicles by working closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to allocate reliability targets and support design decisions. You will also be instrumental in leading or supporting Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) sessions and participating in human factor reviews to gather user feedback and improve vehicle design.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with IPTs to allocate reliability targets and support design decisions.

    + Lead or support DFMEA sessions with IPTs.

    + Participate in human factor reviews and soldier touchpoints to gather user feedback and improve vehicle design.

    + Coordinate with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure reliability goals are met throughout development.

    + Develop system reliability models for ground combat vehicles such as the XM30, S-MET, and MHCV.

    + Perform reliability predictions for both hardware and software components.

    + Create reliability block diagrams and mathematical models to assess system performance.

    + Conduct R&M evaluations to identify potential failure modes and assess system robustness.

    + Generate Reliability Critical Item Lists to highlight components that significantly impact system reliability.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong understanding of risk prioritization (RPN scoring).

    + Experience leading DFMEA workshops.

    + Familiarity with MIL-STD-1629A or similar standards.

    + Experience with reliability prediction tools such as Weibull++, ReliaSoft, or Minitab.

    + Proficiency in root cause analysis using structured methods like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis.

    + Ability to develop system-level reliability block diagrams and models.

    + Experience in allocating reliability goals to subsystems and tracking performance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in conducting design mitigation reviews.

    + Knowledge of reliability testing and Six Sigma methodologies.

    Work Environment

    This position is 100% onsite at our facility in Auburn Hills, MI. The core working hours are from 9am to 3pm, with flexible start times. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, working 44 hours one week and having Fridays off the following week, working 36 hours. The team consists of a manager and four other reliability engineers.

    This is a Contract position based out of Sterling Heights, Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
