    Job Title: Construction Superintendent

    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee community solar projects in Illinois. This role will involve managing day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site for solar sites ranging from 1 to 2.5 MW. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the renewable energy industry with potential for career advancement.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site.

    + Report daily progress and safety updates to the Senior Construction Manager.

    + Oversee and coordinate sub-vendors and their foremen on site.

    + Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.

    + Set and monitor daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subs.

    + Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule and collaborate with the Senior Construction Manager to ensure timelines are met.

    + Coordinate equipment deliveries with the logistics team and subcontractors.

    + Review and manage construction blueprints, project plans, and specifications daily.

    Essential Skills

    + Construction management experience in commercial electrical or civil projects.

    + Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or extensive construction management experience.

    + Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.

    + Experience managing sub-vendors.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PDF, Word, and Excel.

    + OSHA 10 certification.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Solar experience is a plus.

    + Electrician or electrical experience is advantageous.

    + OSHA 30 certification is preferred; assistance available for renewal if expired.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes solar construction sites across central and Northwest Illinois, with a company trailer on-site. The team comprises electrical and civil subcontractors. Work hours are primarily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Overtime must be approved by the supervisor and is not common. The dress code is construction attire, including jeans and a t-shirt with proper personal protective equipment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
