Job Title: CAD DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and creating designs using CAD software, developing 3D components, and ensuring technical data packages meet program requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD data management, engineering drawing practices, and the ability to lead design reviews and customer meetings.
Responsibilities
+ Manage designs using CAD software per project requirements/specifications.
+ Create 3D components, including the application of Model Based Definition (MBD) elements and metadata.
+ Produce 2D drawings for single components, sub-system installations, and top-level exploded drawings.
+ Understand and manage multiple sub-system designs.
+ Create and manage core standards and procedures related to CAD models and drawings.
+ Provide CAD process support and training to the design team.
+ Conduct packaging, feasibility, and kinematic studies.
+ Possess knowledge of CAD data management, including Part Numbering, Revision History, and Configuration Management.
+ Reverse engineer and design capabilities, including dimensional stack-ups.
+ Troubleshoot design issues related to manufacturing, quality, and sub-system requirements.
+ Apply ASME MBD and Engineering Drawing Practices standards.
+ Support company safety and environmental regulations and policies.
+ Prioritize designs/tasks to support sub-system design maturity and completion dates.
+ Lead design reviews and customer meetings.
+ Report, track, and resolve open issues within a sub-system design team.
+ Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
+ Prepare and present project design status of multiple sub-systems.
+ Manage and communicate Bill of Materials (BOM) structure/requirements.
+ Manage multiple tasks across projects and prioritize based on project scope.
+ Complete sub-system level design release packages on time.
+ Support engineering, procurement, and prototype build activities with technical assistance.
Essential Skills
+ 7+ years of recent and relevant experience with Creo.
+ Experience with family tables in Creo.
+ Proficiency in CAD data management and ASME standards.
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Understanding of 3D top-down design methods.
+ Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation.
+ Understanding of technical user manuals and illustrations in the Department of Defense environment.
Work Environment
The work environment is collaborative, requiring efficient communication and teamwork across various projects. You will work with advanced CAD software and the Microsoft Office suite, participating in design reviews and technical discussions. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Troy, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $57.00/hr.
