Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a background in electro-mechanics to join our team. The primary role involves designing various configurations for lithium battery cells, ensuring they meet customer specifications while maintaining safety standards. This position requires improving line efficiency by designing tools for different products in a heavily regulated industry.

Responsibilities

+ Design different configurations for lithium battery cells used in various applications such as lawn equipment, government projects, automobiles, and tools.

+ Determine the appropriate type of cells for each product and design efficient packaging.

+ Ensure designs comply with safety and customer specifications.

+ Improve production line efficiency by developing tools for various products.

+ Lead and mentor junior engineers to foster professional development.

+ Solve problems effectively in a dynamic work environment.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical Engineering Degree

+ Proficiency in Solidworks, CAD, and AutoCAD

+ Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing engineering

+ Problem-solving skills

+ Experience with ISO standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in a heavily regulated industry

+ 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

+ Experience in new product development and injection molding

+ Familiarity with CNC machines

Work Environment

This position is onsite, with duties split between desk work and time on the manufacturing floor. The work environment is part of a multinational company with a small local presence, fostering a family-like atmosphere. The battery industry is vibrant and rapidly developing, offering numerous opportunities for innovation and growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
