    We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to join our team in a high-volume, production-based clinical laboratory environment. This role plays a vital part in supporting clinical lab science and ensuring accurate and timely specimen processing.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.

    + Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.

    + Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information.

    + Sort specimens by department or pipetting requirements.

    + Assist with loading/unloading specimens on the pipetting platform, including capping/uncapping, labeling aliquot tubes, resolving errors, and sorting aliquots.

    + Conduct minor maintenance on lab instrumentation and ensure equipment is functioning properly.

    + Return specimens to designated locations and manage discard/relocation of specimen racks.

    + Replenish test bench supplies as needed.

    + Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

    + Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory standards.

    + Document quality assurance activities including maintenance logs, instrument checks, troubleshooting, and quality control.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned by department management.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

    + Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.

    + Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Prior experience in a medical, laboratory, or production setting.

    + Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.

    Work Environment

    Lab Assistants work in a fast-paced, production-based clinical laboratory setting. The role involves standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and lifting up to 25–40 lbs. It requires handling biological specimens such as blood, urine, and swabs, with strict adherence to safety and sterility protocols. The position includes operating and maintaining lab equipment, including pipetting platforms, and working overnight shifts (e.g., Tuesday–Saturday, 10 PM–6:30 AM) with shift differential pay. The environment is structured, focused on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA and CAP.

    This is a Contract position based out of Agoura Hills, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.85 - $21.85/hr.
