Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Description

The Project Superintendent will oversee and lead all on-site activities for large-scale construction projects. This role involves working closely with the Project Manager to coordinate scheduling, planning, and material procurement. The position requires effective collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, design teams, clients, and internal team members to ensure successful project execution and delivery. A strong partnership with Project Managers is critical to the role’s success. Regular travel throughout the Capital Region is expected, with occasional travel across New York State depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee and lead all on-site activities for construction projects.

+ Coordinate scheduling, planning, and material procurement in collaboration with the Project Manager.

+ Maintain effective collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, design teams, clients, and internal team members.

+ Ensure successful project execution and delivery.

+ Travel regularly throughout the Capital Region and occasionally across New York State as required by project needs.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in field supervision within general construction or construction management.

+ Proven track record in commercial construction projects valued between $1 million and $20 million.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong negotiation abilities.

+ Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

+ In-depth technical knowledge of structural, architectural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.

+ Solid financial acumen with the ability to manage and maintain project budgets.

+ Experience in project scheduling and timeline management.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and daily reporting tools.

+ Familiarity with project management platforms like Procore or similar.

+ Willingness and ability to work on-site at job locations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ College degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

+ OSHA 10-hour certification required; OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment involves regular on-site presence at construction sites. The role requires frequent travel within the Capital Region and occasional travel across New York State based on project requirements. The position demands effective use of technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite and project management platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Schenectady, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $48.07/hr.
