Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

This entry-level engineering role is centered on designing and developing retail Point-of-Purchase (POP) displays. As a Junior Engineer, you will use SolidWorks to create 3D models, technical drawings, and assembly instructions that transform creative concepts into production-ready designs. You will support prototyping, testing, and planogram layouts while working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and production teams.

Responsibilities

+ Design and develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.

+ Create accurate, production-ready technical documents through CAD drafting.

+ Utilize Adobe Photoshop for labeling, instruction sheets, and visual layouts.

+ Support prototyping and testing by assisting with mock-ups and design refinements.

+ Develop planograms by understanding merchandising layouts and retail product placement.

+ Document engineering processes including BOM (Bill of Materials), exploded views, and assembly guides.

+ Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet production and client requirements.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.

+ Experience with CAD Drafting for technical document creation.

+ Familiarity with Point-of-Purchase display materials such as metal, wood, acrylic, corrugate, and plastics.

+ Knowledge of mechanical design principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.

+ Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign for creating display guides and marketing layouts.

+ Understanding of planogram development and merchandising layouts.

+ Experience with prototyping and testing processes.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment, providing an opportunity for hands-on learning and mentorship. You will be exposed to both design and manufacturing processes, all under one roof. The company offers billable PTO and opportunities for career growth and movement into other industries.

Job Type & Location

This position is based out of Dalton, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
