Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards by testing finished products, packaging, and raw materials. This role is also responsible for supporting internal audits, maintaining lab equipment, and cross-training within chemistry labs.
Key Responsibilities
+ Test finished goods, raw materials (milk, oil, corn syrup), and packaging for compliance.
+ Conduct cream release and component testing; perform identity (ID) testing of raw materials.
+ Calibrate Charm SL equipment and prepare FT2 cleaning/zero solutions.
+ Maintain clean, organized, and compliant laboratory conditions.
+ Monitor and document refrigeration and incubator temperatures.
+ Manage inventory and ordering of lab consumables.
+ Record and review test data using GDPs and GLPs.
+ Execute Internal Control Plan and enter data in SAP and other systems.
+ Trend lab data and report findings to operations.
+ Promptly escalate any out-of-spec results.
+ Perform routine quality and food safety audits.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Obtain and maintain Appendix N certification and complete annual split samples.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in a life science field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Food Science).
+ Laboratory experience, including that acquired through education.
+ Understanding of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety regulations.
+ Familiarity with wet chemistry, titration, and chemical testing.
+ Comfortable with third-shift work schedule.
Work Environment
+ Third-shift lab environment with a small team (2 others).
+ Time split between lab and production floor to conduct sampling and testing.
+ Initial training on first shift (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM).
+ Tasks include sensory evaluation, instrument calibration, and bulk material testing (milk, sugar, oil).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
