The Electrical Engineer will lead the design of projects across various markets such as K-12, office, commercial, retail, data center, municipal, and government sectors. The role involves preparing reports, cost estimating, developing specifications, performing calculations, selecting equipment for specifications, and preparing construction documents for bidding. Additionally, the engineer will conduct analysis, field investigations, and forensic investigations as needed, while representing the company in communications with clients, architects, sub-consultants, contractors, and other project design team members.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the design of projects within the specified markets.
+ Prepare reports and cost estimates.
+ Develop specifications and perform calculations.
+ Select equipment for specifications and prepare construction documents for bidding.
+ Conduct analysis, field investigations, and forensic investigations as required.
+ Communicate effectively with clients, architects, sub-consultants, contractors, and project design team members.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
+ 4-12 years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
+ Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
+ Experience in markets such as K-12, office, commercial, retail, data center, municipal, and government.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ LEED Accreditation preferred.
+ Business-like mindset and experience in forming positive client relationships.
+ Candidates from competitors like Moseley Architects, 2rW Consultants, PACE Collaborative, and Ascent Engineering are considered.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7 AM to 5 PM with an hour for lunch, and Friday from 7 AM to 11 AM. The position is available in the Richmond office or the Hampton/VA Beach area offices. The Richmond office is a small team consisting of 1 Associate, 1 Engineer, and 3 Construction Admin professionals. Initially, the role will involve designing for 40 hours a week, eventually transitioning to approximately 20-25 hours of design work weekly, with the remaining time dedicated to project management. The work primarily focuses on the Richmond and Hampton Roads areas. The position seeks an ambitious individual who can contribute to the company's growth. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
