Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Investigator to join our environmental services team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of field experience conducting asbestos inspections and preparing comprehensive reports in compliance with NYC DEP regulations.
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct asbestos investigations and field inspections at residential and commercial properties within the NYC metro area
+ Prepare detailed inspection reports and required regulatory forms (including ACP-5 Forms, if applicable)
+ Review construction drawings and project scopes to assist in pre-inspection planning
+ Survey and sample suspect asbestos-containing materials in compliance with applicable regulations
+ Submit collected bulk samples to certified laboratories for analysis
+ Maintain accurate recordkeeping and documentation per NYC DEP requirements
+ Navigate indoor and outdoor environments to perform inspections, including climbing stairwells and working in various field conditions
+ Operate field equipment and perform manual tasks including sampling and data entry
Required Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience in asbestos investigation or related environmental field
+ Strong understanding of asbestos regulations and NYC DEP compliance standards
+ Proficient in reading construction drawings and scopes of work
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing clear, accurate reports
+ Ability to safely handle environmental sampling equipment and materials
Certifications Required
+ HAZWOPER Certification
+ Hazmat Certification
+ OSHA Certification (30-Hour preferred)
Preferred Skills
+ Experience in Environmental Science or a related field
+ Experience with environmental compliance, site assessment, or field sampling
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
+ Must be able to ascend/descend stairwells and carry equipment as needed
+ Manual dexterity required for field equipment use, writing, and data entry
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Long Island City,NY.
