Job Title: Field Service Manager
Job Description
As a Field Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of on-site work activities. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing work areas in coordination with the Project Manager, planning and supervising installation and commissioning activities, and performing hands-on work when necessary. You will also be responsible for ensuring site safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance, all while adhering to GMP standards. Effective communication with both the company and customer project managers is essential, as well as overseeing the receipt, inspection, and proper storage of equipment and materials. Your expertise will also be instrumental in providing on-site client training and contributing to the development of the service team.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare on-site work areas in coordination with the Project Manager.
+ Plan and supervise installation, assembly, commissioning, and qualification activities.
+ Perform hands-on work, especially on smaller projects, when needed.
+ Ensure compliance with site safety, quality, schedule, and budget, in line with GMP standards.
+ Troubleshoot technical, scheduling, and resource issues.
+ Manage communication with project managers and leadership.
+ Oversee receipt, inspection, and proper storage of equipment and materials.
+ Provide on-site client training and instruction to team members.
+ Contribute to building the service team and improving execution processes off-site.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in technical field work (mechanical, electrical, automation) in GMP environments.
+ 3+ years of experience as a foreman, site supervisor, or manager in mechanical or process system installation in a regulated industry.
+ Ability to organize work effectively and lead a team under pressure.
+ Understanding of specifications and contractual requirements.
+ Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 80%) across North America and 2-3 trips to Europe annually.
+ Residence in the Charlotte, NC area is strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens automation systems.
+ Experience with mechanical engineering, automation systems, and programmable logic.
+ Experience in mechanical, electrical, or automation systems.
+ Pharma or food industry experience.
+ Experience with large equipment such as pharma vessels or skids.
+ Basic programming knowledge in ladder logic and possibly structured text.
+ Ability to connect PLCs to a network and perform wire termination.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position that requires approximately 80% travel, primarily within the US to client sites, with occasional trips to Europe for training and collaboration. When not traveling, the role offers a hybrid work environment. The company is a leading provider of GMP-compliant process systems for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, with a strong presence in North America and Europe. The work involves installing and commissioning large pharmaceutical-grade equipment, providing an exciting and dynamic work environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
