Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. This role involves traditional phlebotomy duties with additional responsibilities in processing, centrifuging, and splitting samples. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service and proficiency in data entry, particularly using the LabCorp Touch system. Training will be provided during the initial weeks, and candidates are expected to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform blood draws, focusing 70% of the time on this task.

+ Enter and process orders while managing data entry tasks.

+ Call doctor offices and confirm patient information.

+ Process and ship specimens accurately and efficiently.

+ Clean and restock workstations to maintain a safe and organized environment.

+ Handle an average of 120 draws daily at a busy patient service center.

Essential Skills

+ Proven experience in phlebotomy, ideally with at least one year of active practice.

+ Proficiency in venipuncture and blood draw techniques.

+ Strong customer service skills.

+ Competence in data entry and medical record management.

+ Experience with the LabCorp Touch system is highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients is preferred.

+ Completion of a CPT and BLS certification.

+ Experience in a hospital or diagnostics environment is beneficial.

Work Environment

The phlebotomist will work in a busy patient service center, primarily within a laboratory and medical environment. The position requires standing for approximately 50% of the time and collaboration with another phlebotomist. The role involves floating between locations, including Irvine, Orange, South LA, Manhattan Beach, and Newport Beach, with coverage needed between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Initial training will take place over two weeks, requiring full-time attendance, and will be held in Wildomar, Tustin, or Los Angeles. Hotel accommodations are available if necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
