    Job Title: Traffic Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Engineer to join our team. This position involves working in our local metro Detroit office, with the flexibility of one remote workday per week after an initial training period of 4-6 weeks. The role primarily involves office work with occasional visits to project sites in the metro Detroit area and potentially in Lansing and Grand Rapids.

    Responsibilities

    + Collect and analyze traffic data.

    + Prepare comprehensive traffic impact studies.

    + Develop plan sheets and Synchro model networks.

    + Design traffic signs and pavement marking plans.

    + Conduct crash analyses and traffic signal designs.

    + Prepare maintenance of traffic plans and related write-ups.

    + Resolve design and construction problems efficiently.

    + Develop cost estimates and project schedules.

    + Ensure projects run smoothly and are completed on time.

    + Participate in field investigations to diagnose issues.

    + Develop reports and preliminary concepts.

    + Adapt to varied experiences and changes.

    + Collaborate in a team-oriented environment and function independently when required.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

    + Valid Driver’s License.

    + 4-10 years of Traffic Engineering experience, with a focus on traffic studies.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro, VISSIM, Highway Capacity Software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + EIT or PE license.

    + Roadway Design skills.

    + MicroStation Design experience.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is fun, team-focused, and collaborative across departments. Expect to work Monday through Friday for 40-45 hours per week. The role includes weekly visits to project sites.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
