Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the development and execution of innovative projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and systems engineering, with experience in manufacturing environments. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team culture.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
+ Manage project scheduling and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.
+ Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
+ Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design and drafting of engineering schematics.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system design and integration.
+ Engage in data collection and analysis to inform decision-making processes.
+ Conduct research and development activities to drive innovation within the team.
+ Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on technical challenges and career development.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanical/manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
+ 3D/2D CAD experience including 3D part and assembly modeling, 2D drafting/drawing experience.
+ Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in mechanical design and systems engineering.
+ Familiarity with CAD software for 3D modeling and design tasks.
+ Experience with data analysis skills, including data collection methodologies and laboratory experience.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in project management within manufacturing or construction sectors.
+ Knowledge of quantum engineering principles is a plus but not mandatory.
+ A can-do attitude, not afraid of hands-on tasks on the shop floor.
Work Environment
This position will have 2 direct reports (manufacturing engineers) with anticipation for department growth. The work environment is dynamic, offering the opportunity to build a department in a growing company.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Putnam, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $59.00/hr.
