Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering TechnicianJob Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support the engineering staff by developing, testing, and refining aluminum welding processes and equipment. This role is pivotal in tooling development, process optimization, and ensuring quality assurance for aluminum welding competency.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement tooling and fixtures specific to aluminum welding applications.
+ Review project instructions, blueprints, and welding specifications to determine process requirements and potential improvements.
+ Draft detailed drawings or sketches for the fabrication of welding jigs, fixtures, and components.
+ Set up and operate welding equipment, including TIG and MIG systems, for aluminum materials.
+ Conduct weld tests and inspections to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
+ Troubleshoot welding issues and recommend process changes or equipment modifications.
+ Collaborate with design and production teams to optimize weld joint designs and manufacturability.
+ Record welding procedures, test results, and recommendations for process improvements.
+ Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards related to welding operations.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in process improvement and optimization for aluminum welding.
+ Experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on aluminum welding.
+ Ability to build out procedure and qualification programs.
+ Capability to read and interpret technical documents and welding codes.
+ Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
+ Proficiency in geometry, trigonometry, and material calculations relevant to welding and fabrication.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt welding techniques to meet design and production needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree in Welding Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from the American Welding Society (AWS) is preferred, or willingness to obtain.
+ Experience with CAD software.
Work Environment
The work is performed in both shop and manufacturing floor environments, where safety and adherence to environmental standards are paramount.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Jackson, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $79040.00/yr.
