Job Title: Housekeeper
Job Description
The Housekeeper will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning non-occupied patient rooms within a hospital setting. Each room requires a deep clean, taking approximately 20-30 minutes, including tasks such as bed making, mattress flipping, and disinfecting the entire room. Additionally, you will handle linens by placing them in a large, heavy bag and transporting them to the chute. The position requires rotating weekends.
Responsibilities
+ Clean non-occupied patient rooms with attention to detail.
+ Make beds and flip mattresses.
+ Thoroughly clean and disinfect entire rooms.
+ Handle and transport linens in heavy bags.
+ Work rotating weekends.
Essential Skills
+ Strong attendance record.
+ Punctuality and reliability.
+ Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, nurses, doctors, and the housekeeping team.
+ Exceptional customer service skills, even when dealing with difficult individuals.
+ Ability to lift 50lbs and push 200lbs.
+ At least 6 months of previous cleaning or housekeeping experience in a hospital or hotel setting.
Work Environment
This role is situated in a hospital setting where you will often work independently, making self-starting a vital trait. The dress code requires no facial piercings, tattoos must be covered, and the use of heavy fragrances is not permitted. Rotating weekend shifts are a part of the schedule.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $18.00/hr.
